St Joseph's Catholic Kindergarten, Bundaberg

We are a Queensland Approved Kindergarten and we provide a quality early childhood program that focuses on learning and development of each child and acknowledges that all children are on their own learning journey. Every child's physical, emotional, spiritual, and social development is met in a safe, caring, challenging and suportive environment. In tailoring indivialized programs for each student, we look to build positve relationships with families and the community and welcome feedback and input in the the kindy program.

Our students have access to a wide range of experinces, activities and serivces including weekly visitd from a Speech Therapist , Play Therapist that is funded through the Kindy Uplift Project. This project also provides opportunities for our educators to learn more about our local traditional custodiams the Taribelang People. We have enjoyed the Elders visits to our service and the Taribelang Cultural Tour. 

We have a strong focus on recycling, composting our rubbish, growing and maintaining our vegetable and herb garden and even producing our own fertilizer using banana water. Our facilities include an aterlier (artist workshop) showcasing children's creativity and imagination, a fire pit where children learn more about the Taribelang people, culuture, and connection to country, as well as safety, risk, teamwork, danger and fire pit cooking. We have a large mud kitchen for all sorts of creative play and cooking.

Our service has a close relationship with the St Joseph's Catholic Primary School with regular visits to the library, working with their Grade 4 buddies and attending important assemblies, liturgies, and events througout the year.
