Valentina's Family Day Care

At Valentina’s FDC we have established a home-based care environment that is safe, friendly, educational, and supportive for children. Children are encouraged to develop their cognitive, social, physical, creative and emotional skills through our curriculum. Valentina's FDC fosters safe, respectful, and supportive relationships for all children, families, and educators through open, honest, and effective communication. Our goal is to provide children with a solid foundation through the extension and enrichment of their learning. Each child's voice and rights deserve to be heard and respected. We strive to make children feel valued, loved and included.

Our fortnightly curriculums at Valentina's FDC are based on the EYLF learning outcomes to guide our work with children. We assist each child in achieving the learning outcomes and focus on each child's progress towards achieving these outcomes. We also establish goals for determining the progress that a child makes through the various experiences they undertake in our care. Observations and follow-ups are also conducted each month, allowing children to make connections between prior knowledge and new learning. We incorporate art projects, educational activities, assistance with homework for after school care and engage children in play-based learning activities.

My experience with working with children includes:

•  Working as a support worker for children with intellectual disabilities for 1 year.

• Before and after school care at a public school for 6 months.

I have a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and Currently studying Bachelor of Criminology in University.
